This program is meant for individuals needing financial assistance. (please see the conditions below to receive funding).

Everyone can face hard times despite their zip code, employment, or socio-economic status. If keeping families together and preventing loved animal companions from entering the overcrowded shelter system is the best option for everyone involved, we will do everything possible to make that happen.

We are here to offer support, resources, and services such as food assistance, lifesaving medical care, behavioral training, or spay/neuter services to those (located in NY, NJ, or GA) in temporary need.  We will do everything we can to go above and beyond to ensure equitable access to help so that a responsible and loving family does not have to make the heartbreaking choice of giving up their beloved animal companion. Moreover, we are stepping in to prevent animals from entering an overpopulated and overwhelmed shelter system. 

*Food Assistance

Many families temporarily face difficult financial times and may require assistance caring for their pets. We believe that no one should face the difficult decision of surrendering their pet because they cannot afford the cost of food. So, if your animal companion(s) are hungry, please email us at info@houndsinpounds.com, and we will do everything to help.

*Veterinary Care Assistance

Don’t let the cost of regular or emergency veterinary care services be why your pet doesn’t stay a part of your family or suffers from an illness or injury requiring medical attention. Please read our conditions and fill out a short application if you meet the criteria.

  • Our funding is based on a first-come, first-served basis and is contingent on the case’s urgency.
  • There is a two-year minimum to reapply for those who received funding.
  • We can only assist residents of the NYC Metropolitan area, NJ, and Georgia.
  • Funding will only be considered if you complete all fields of the application.
